From the 21-25 November, 2012, The Kings Cross Festival will celebrate the culture that exists in the exciting, vibrant and diverse neighborhood of Kings Cross + Potts Point.
Some suburbs have a certain charm - food, wine, architecture, creativity, beauty. We have it all and we intend to showcase it all. The Kings Cross Festival will be inclusive of both residents and businesses alike to present a positive, celebratory image of the Cross and its neighbourhood.
THE FESTIVAL WILL INCLUDE :
Retail: A co-ordinated, creatively curated window display will highlight the retail participants of the Festival to passers-by and shoppers alike. A Pop-Up Shop will be curated by leaders in fashion and design, showcasing the best in the area - fashion, homewares and gifts.
Art: Local Art Galleries will host exhibitions and late night openings, with installations and exhibits curated for the empty shop fronts along Darlinghurst Road.
Families: Fitzroy Gardens in the heart of the Cross will be the focus for daytime and early evening entertainment with a bandstand and musical acts. On Sunday a ‘Teddy Beares Picnic’ in Beare Park will include music and entertainment.
Evening Entertainment: In the evening a series of events, in different locations, will showcase musical and theatrical acts - bands, burlesque, supper clubs and more. A Literary event and book launch will occur each night.
COME AND JOIN US AS WE CELEBRATE OUR UNIQUE NEIGHBOURHOOD - THE AREA KNOWN AS KINGS CROSS!
